Volunteer roles available
Find your place
Every volunteer is assigned a role based on their preference and experience. Here are the roles that keep every drive running smoothly.
Daig Duty
Serve biryani from the daigs onto thaals. Requires physical stamina — daigs are heavy and hot. Maximum 2 people per daig.
Security & Crowd Management
Maintain order during distribution and seating. Ensure everyone gets served fairly. Guide the community to their spots.
Sherbet & Beverages
Mix sherbet in large tubs, prepare glasses, and distribute drinks before and during iftaar. Also manage water distribution.
Provider / Distribution
Serve food to seated guests, distribute iftaar boxes to passersby, and ensure thaals are replenished. Front-line service role.
Media & Documentation
Capture photos, videos, and testimonials during drives. Content is used for social media and donor transparency.
Social Media & Marketing
Create and share content before, during, and after drives. Help spread the word and attract donors and volunteers.
Logistics & Procurement
Source supplies from vendors, arrange transport, handle equipment setup and teardown. The backbone of every drive.
Your first drive
Showing up is the hardest part — everything else, we will guide you through. Here is what to expect when you volunteer for the first time.
- Arrive 30-45 minutes before iftaar for briefing and setup
- Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes (no shalwar kameez for safety)
- Listen to the drive coordinator for duty assignments
- Stay until cleanup is complete — we leave every location spotless
- Capture photos and videos to share on social media
- Have fun — you will meet amazing people and feed hundreds
